Health Care

The David Thompson Health Authority serves the Hamlet of Mirror. Medical care can be accessed in the towns of Lacombe, 45 kilometres (28 miles) west of Mirror (www.town.lacombe.ab.ca) and the Town of Stettler, 48 kilometres (30 miles) east of Mirror (www.stettler.net). The services of physicians, dentists, optometrists, opticians, chiropractors, denturists and audiologists are provided in both towns.

Hospital services are available in both Stettler and Lacombe, and there is a health clinic in Bashaw.

Mirror's home care program is provided by the Stettler Health Clinic.

The Lacombe County Enforcement department protects county infrastructure, monitors traffic for the safety of motorists, provides information regarding legislation and by-laws to industry and the general public, and provides service to local communities (Clive, Eckville, Alix, the summer villages of Gull Lake, Sunbreaker Cove, and Birchcliff) through contracts. The department's legislative authority includes sections of the Traffic Safety Act & Regulations, sections of the Gaming & Liquor Act, County by-laws, and issuance of fire permits. The department does not deal with criminal code offences such as: impaired driving, theft, and break and enter. Animal control is presently handled by contractors who work under the direction of the department.

The Edmonton Journal, The Edmonton Sun, The Calgary Sun, and The Red Deer Advocate are available in Mirror on a daily basis. The Bashaw Star is a weekly publication.

Most Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer, Stettler and Camrose AM and FM radio stations are received clearly in Mirror.
